Savonnerie du Regagnas was created in 2006 to meet a simple need: how to take care of your sensitive skin on a daily basis? Back then, cold saponified and organic soaps weren't as common as they are today. Maria Gennen therefore decided to create her own soaps for her own use but also for that of her children.
Since the soap factory has evolved, it has moved from Maria's kitchen to a small workshop located near Aix-en-Provence where her son recently joined her: it is therefore a real family affair. Despite the changes and the passage of time, the method of manufacturing the products has remained unchanged.
The soaps are handcrafted, cut and stamped by hand. What are the advantages of cold saponification? First of all, the process is more ecological, it gives real artisanal soap without any release into the environment and without the addition of synthetic additives. The soaps are enriched with noble, non-saponified oils, which maintain the balance of the skin's hydrolipidic film. glycerin, a moisturizing substance naturally formed during saponification, is left entirely in the soap (unlike what is practiced for industrial soaps). This cold saponification process therefore makes it possible to preserve the quality of the raw materials used so that they confer all their virtues on the finished products.
The result is a rich soap, extremely soft, composed of "native" glycerin, noble non-saponified oils, and all their precious unsaponifiable active ingredients: much more than soap, a skin care product! After 15 years of existence, the Savonnerie is still faithful to its ethics and its initial values, and for good reason: it is labeled Nature & Progrès and Slow Cosmétique.
