Cows show their sympathy by licking each other's heads, shoulders or backs. They are often sad and stressed when separated from their friends. It is not difficult for them to recognize each other: their voice and smell are very characteristic. They are also capable of retaining up to 100 faces in their flock and are very intelligent. They even know how to solve puzzles, which amuses them a lot. When they figure out how to open a gate with a button, they do little jumps and frolic with joy.
