Our choice fell on a mixture of cotton and hemp. And for good reason. Hemp has been used as a fiber material for thousands of years. Not only is it particularly tear-resistant, the cavities in the hemp fibers also trap and insulate air. At the same time, they can absorb moisture, such as sweat, to a large extent without feeling wet. Both materials are GOTS certified and grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers. To protect the filling from dirt and moisture, the pillow has a washable cotton outer cover with a zipper. The outer cover of our sustainable hemp pillow is washable - ideally at 30 degrees on a wool cycle. Please don't put the cushion cover in the dryer, it doesn't like that at all. After washing, simply shake them up briefly and lay them flat to dry. You should not wash the inner pillow - it is sufficient if you air it thoroughly and shake it regularly. If the cover of your hemp pillow discolours, this is quite normal. The natural fibers of the pillow are not chemically treated, so small natural particles can cause slight discoloration.
