The sparkling wine producer Duprès presents delicacies for the love of sparkling tradition with a touch of modernity. The family business was first mentioned in 1650. The foundation stone for top-class sparkling wine was also laid here. The wine shop in its present form has existed since 1792. In the 19th century, the son Fritz Kollmeyer was born, who left Neustadt am Rübenberge on his own and brought back more than exquisite pearls from his trip to the South Seas. The most valuable souvenir was the company Duprès & Co., which was named after his teacher Monsieur Duprès. In order to operate a sparkling wine cellar next to the wine house, the ideal and cool vaulted cellar under the Landestrost Castle was secured. From then on, the brand found great recognition and became purveyor to the court of many royal and manor houses. In the 20th century the old tradition could be revived, Kollmeyer & Cie "Brut" produced champagne from a small manufactory in Epernay. Joachim Plinke now manages the company. The great-nephew of the legendary "Old Fritz". returned to his homeland as a cellar master in 1981 and took over the traditional company from his father. Expertise passed down through generations.
