At the origin of the brand of artificial flowers of world renown, is a woman. The name SIA is none other than the acronym of the initials of the Founder, Sonja Ingegerd Andersson. The story begins in her kitchen in Sweden, where she makes flowers by hand and cuts them out of tissue paper. We are then in 1963, at the heart of the Flower Power movement. The women's magazine "Femina" publishes her creations and it is an immediate success. Orders flow into the little house in Lustgarden, which is transformed into a workshop where the whole village cuts, folds and sends by post flowers that open into multicolored corollas. The house must annex outbuildings, half of the people of the village work there but Sonja has already left for other creations: vases, batiks, tableware, decorative objects, small pieces of furniture, candlesticks, candles...
