The green hand

This illustration pictures an idiomatic expression. This is a version of a common expression: "to have the hand...", which designates someone who is gifted in a particular field. As far as plants are concerned, this will not surprise anyone: most are green. This expression is quite recent, and dates from the middle of the 20th century.
