Not so very long ago, just before the word has changed a lot for travellers, in 2019, I decided to through myself into the jungle lands of Bali island. After living there few months, I was swinging comfortly in a hammock under the palm leave, sipping my morning coffee and I couldn’t help myself but wonder… Is there any way I could take with me and share this mesmerising Bali spirit far far away in a hectic western world, where people are so tight, stressed, constantly in rush and dreaming for slow and comfy leisure days. As I sat there wrapped in my Balinese silk kimono, your’e right I didn’t wander too long.
“So silky” - I said myself out loud and that was the moment SO SILKY brand was born.
Today each sleeky toutchy SO SILKY kimonos is lovingly made by caring hands in the Island of Gods, Bali. So the brand not only feels ambitious about sustaining the authenticity of SO SILKY origin, but aims to continue our socially responsible mission to support talented Balinese tailors who are still suffering from absolute unemployment after the island was closed for tourism due to global pandemic.
