Special laundry net 80 x 50 cm - for washing and drying speltex® grain husk fillings The husks of spelled and millet are naturally resistant to moisture. In nature, it was their job to protect the grains inside from the weather and from fungal attack. speltex® grain trays with rubber can be washed at up to 60°C. With the stability that you have gained from impregnation with natural rubber milk, you can better withstand the stresses of washing, spinning and drying. Even speltex® spelled husks without rubber from the premium grade can be washed once or twice despite their lower durability. A prerequisite for the washability of grain shell fillings is that there are no longer any husks containing grain. speltex® ensures that there are no grains in a separate operation. In principle, it is also possible to wash the fillings directly in the pillowcase. A cotton fabric, however, allows less air to pass through during drying, which increases the drying time. In addition, spelled husks in particular bleed during the first wash, which can leave yellowish edges on light-colored fabrics. With the large format of the laundry net, the filling can be spread out flat in a thin layer on the drying rack to dry in the sun. This laundry net consists of a robust, close-meshed polyester mesh fabric and a sturdy zipper. Even the fine millet husks with rubber cannot escape through the mesh of this net when washing, spinning and drying. Fill a laundry net with a maximum of 3 kg of spelled husks or millet husks. After the wash and spin cycle, they then weigh about twice as much. The fact that cereal shells absorb moisture to such a high degree is part of their good sleeping climate properties. A washing temperature of up to 60° C is recommended. Boiling is possible, but the grain shells will then become slightly brittle. You can dry the filling in the tumble dryer. A gentle setting favors a longer service life of the filling. When drying in the sun, the laundry net can be placed on a drying rack, for example, and occasionally turned and shaken up. Please ensure complete drying. Tip: If you weigh the filling before washing, you can later check whether the dry weight has been regained. If this is not the case, you should continue drying so that there is no residual moisture in the filling.
