SPICYBRAND is a SL founded by Ignacio together with Raquel, during confinement and with which we have invoiced +150k USD in the first year. The truth is that both of us have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and due to our different profiles (Raquel studies design), what suited us best was setting up a fashion company, since it was relatively easy to launch and required little initial investment (we only had $500 he had saved over the summer working as a construction mason).
The reality is that luck was not on our side, because when we launched our first pack of 25 sweatshirts for sale, they confined us and we were not even able to recover the investment. This situation made us return to the starting point and we finally found a market niche that we thought we could exploit: quality bags at an affordable price.
With the money from the sweatshirts, we made a first purchase of 11 units from a Chinese intermediary in Spain. Through our Instagram account (now with 8k followers), we contacted an influencer who agreed to collaborate with us and we managed to generate more than 350 reservations in 24 hours. From this moment on, the wind began to blow in our favor and we began to professionalize the business: we launched a website, created a logo, diversified products, invested in marketing, rented premises for stock management, multiplied margins with new suppliers from India, in addition to expanding to other countries (Italy and Portugal).
The most interesting thing about the story is that we had a common goal and that was for Raquel to be able to continue studying at UNAV, since she had lost her scholarship the first year. Today, with the benefits generated, not only can we pay for Raquel's university and accommodation, but we also have the opportunity to continue growing and expanding the company.
