These woolen threads come from surplus raw materials from workshops and factories that manufacture woolen products. The threads are gathered and rolled into balls of wool which are then woven by traditional artisans. The traditional process is sustainable and the use of surplus wool makes it even more environmentally friendly. The feel: very warm rustic blanket with a heavy feel. Artisans: Made in northern India, near Jaipur by families of traditional artisans who weave to supplement other sources of seasonal income such as agriculture. Working on hand-woven textiles allows artisans to work from home or nearby, while preserving a valuable artisanal heritage.
