The 80-tooth bamboo Matcha green tea beater is the essential accessory for the preparation of Matcha tea: for hundreds of years, in fact, it has been prepared with bamboo whisks (chasen), which gives the tea its creamy texture and foamy.   The bamboo whisk is an essential component in the Matcha tea ceremony. 

The chasen is handmade and the teeth are painfully cut from a bamboo stem and then sculpted into shape. 

The art of making these whisks is exclusive to specially trained artisans. 

It is not possible to make matcha bamboo whisks with machines and it is what makes each product unique.   Chasen are made from sustainable raw materials and are designed to create a perfectly foamy matcha.
