Oolong Dong Ding Tea from Taiwan - 10 g

Dong Ding Oolong Tea is a fairly well-known type of Taiwanese oolong that has changed a lot from its inception in the 1980s to today. In fact, when this tea began to conquer the market about forty years ago, it had a high oxidation and underwent a very intense cooking process that made the leaf appear a dark brown color like that of a red tea. Nowadays, although it comes from the same area of Taiwan around Mount Lugu, this product is usually oxidized and roasted less since the general taste nowadays favors a less smoky and tannic character in oolongs.  As for the flavors of this new Dong Ding in our selection, we tried to focus a little more on the cooking to obtain a deeper flavor. In particular, during the tasting, you will notice the woody nuances of flavour and, only in the background, some vegetal notes characterised by a dark and balsamic tone. Compared to the other Don Ding in our catalog, this one will have a slight bitter aftertaste due to the cooking process, which reveals a production approach that is more similar to that of the past rather than the softer, fresher modern style.
