The name Tenuta dei Tigli derives from the presence of two centenary lime trees, who are the custodians of the company.
The 12 hectares of vineyards of the estate are 100% owned and are located at the foot of the Majella, in Abruzzo, on the hills of the municipalities of Casacanditella and San Martino sulla Marrucina, at altitudes close to 400 meters above sea level.
The soils tend to be clayey and of medium texture, exposed towards SOUTH - SOUTH / EAST, characterized by a significant temperature range between day and night, as well as by an excellent brightness. A careful choice of grape varieties and clones, together with the obsessive care of the vineyards, are reflected in the very high quality of the wines we produce.
Copper, sulfur and manure are the only agronomic practices we use. Our farming systems are the traditional Abruzzo pergola and the rows with guyot farming, allow us to obtain the maximum expression of the territory. Particular interest is given to the native Abruzzo vines, such as Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Cococciola, Pecorino and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, which represent the common thread between past, present and future.
