How it started
Because of my love for Thailand and of course the coffee, I traveled to Thailand in 2018 and started looking for a coffee of my own. A coffee of a high quality, a so-called Specialty coffee. So I found this coffee. In the course of 2019 I started to import and sell this Specialty coffee to the Thai catering entrepreneur.
The quality of Thai coffee has increased enormously in recent years. The Thai coffee farmer is constantly working to increase the quality of their coffee, among other things by using other process techniques.
The Thai coffee farmer now mainly produces for the local market, but also wants recognition of his own coffee grown abroad. I want to contribute to this.
TOP QUALITY COFFEE
Thai farmers have worked hard for years to achieve a high-quality product. The third generation of farmers who have taken over the plantation from their parents and ancestors are extremely driven and passionate. They want to introduce the rest of the world to their coffee and let people taste what kind of special coffee it is.
DIRECT TRADE
In order to make the coffee of the local farmers a success abroad, I am in direct contact (direct trade) with the local coffee farmer. To do this, I visit the coffee farmers every year and offer a fair price for their coffee. I also have an intermediary on site with whom I work closely. As a result, we know faster and better what the coffee farmers need, such as better process and drying techniques for the production of their coffee. Because the coffee farmer receives a fair price for his coffee, he is able to use this money to produce sustainable coffee.
