OKHUGOMVANA: Handwoven Pink Love Angel Tree Decoration

The Christmas decorations that become heirlooms are the ones that tell a story. With a skirt crafted from sisal fronds and a sweet little halo atop her head, this angel tree decoration in bright pink and white comes from eSwatini, handwoven from local sisal grass. We just adore her heart-shaped wings.  Each piece in this collection of Christmas tree decorations brings sustainable work to rural artisans, from growing and harvesting the crop to preparing and dyeing the fibres – all before the weaving begins.  The group behind this collection was set up by a pioneering founder with a mission to empower women through leadership workshops, handicrafts training and health education. In 1985 there were 12 women being mentored through this organization; to date over 1400 women have benefitted from working with this group and lead more empowered and sustainable livelihoods thanks to its support and guidance.   Material: Sisal, Grass & Bead Dimensions: 15cm x 4.5cm Please note, as this is a handmade product, dimensions & colour may vary from those shown in the photographs.
