Indra Medium Stitched and Embossed Leather Clasped Album

Stunning handmade, fair trade and eco friendly leather covered photo album. The leather has been embossed by skilled local village crafts people. Ideal for anyone who has a passion for photos, sketching, painting or just doodling. These photo albums have 30 pages, each interleaved with tissue paper, and can hold up to 120 standard 6x4 inch photos; they are made with khadda paper, made from recycled cotton (also known as khaddi) that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India. Dimensions: 26 x 18.5 cm They are handmade and don’t contain any chemicals as we only use unbleached cotton. We don't recommend using fountain pen with this type of handmade paper as it has a slight texture to it. The leather has been tanned by our suppliers and the albums have been crafted using a mixture of love, contemporary and traditional skills. What makes this leather photo book even more special is the embossing on the covers, which has been done with small individual handmade tools by our talented artisans in India. The embossed pattern might not be the same as on the image, but will be just as lovely and carefully made. For a more intrepid look, these albums have been expertly stitched around the outside. All the products in this range are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India. We are fortunate enough to visit them every year, having worked with them for many years following Fair Trade guidelines. We are incredibly proud that together we are able to provide people in rural villages fairly paid work that may have otherwise been difficult to find, and consider the producers and their families true friends. The paper in all our journals and photo albums is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages.
