Our sustainable mango wood chopping boards bring a touch of rustic style to your kitchen. Entirely handmade by our Fair Trade artisans, these boards are not just a functional kitchen essential. Strong and durable, these mango wood boards are great for either food prep or presentation. The natural beauty of the wood shines through and is complemented by the simple design. In addition to being hard wearing chopping boards, they can also be used to serve food too. Breads, cheeses, and antipasti all look right at home on our mango wood boards and they will allow you to perfectly present your kitchen creations. Dimensions: 30 x 19 cm (not including handles) The design include a handy loop strap and sturdy metal carrying handle to allow the boards to be hung up out of the way when not in use or just to add an extra touch of rustic chic to your kitchen. All our mango wood products are hand carved by WFTO (World Fair Trade Organisation) accredited producers in India. They are made entirely by hand using traditional skills handed down from generation to generation. Mango trees have an extremely long life but eventually do stop bearing fruit and are replaced by younger trees. As India produces, by far, the most mangos in the world this results in a massive industry using one of the most sustainable woods known to man. This product has been made by Noah’s Ark, a fantastic member of both the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) and Fair Trade Forum India. With their mission to commit themselves and the producer groups they work with to Fair Trade principles, their goal is to change the lives of grassroots artisans. The organisation works with around 49 talented producer groups, representing approximately 500 artisans collectively working towards the eradication of poverty. Their focus on education and capacity building enables the people they support to become more aware of fair working conditions and the environment, in order to promote the value, cultural heritage and beauty of their handmade products.
