Stitched Leather Journal

Our beautifully hand stitched journals are perfect for use as a diary, travel journal, recipe book or scrapbook. Each one is crafted by hand and filled with approximately 125 pages of unlined, handmade khadda paper. The one exception is the Extra Large which has approximately 150 pages. Stylish and unique it also makes a difference to the communities who make them, the cotton is made by a charity that promotes women's development in rural areas of Rajasthan, India. Expertly crafted using both contemporary and traditional methods, each one is bound by hand, stitched around the outside to give a more intrepid feel and ready to withstand any knocks and bumps on their journeys with you. The leather used for the cover is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes. Protected with natural oils, it will soften and age beautifully. The pages are created from khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi). This sustainable material is crafted by hand from recycled cotton, salvaged from the huge waste of the Indian garment industry. Only unbleached cotton is used, ensuring the paper is acid-free. Lightly textured and luxuriously thick, it feels beautiful to write, draw, or paint on. While it’s perfect for ball-point pens, gel pens, or watercolours, we wouldn’t recommend it for use with fountain pens. Due to the handmade nature of our products each one is unique, but loveliness comes as standard.
