Tree of Life Embossed Leather Photo Album

This embossed leather photo album is a beautiful way to display your favourite photographs. The tree of life traditionally symbolises personal growth, strength, and beauty. Each one is filled with 30 pages of handmade khadda paper, acid-free and interleaved with tissue paper to protect and preserve your memories. The pages are plain to give you the freedom to fill them however you choose. Photos can be added using photo corners, spray mount or simple glue. This album is also perfect for use as a sketch or scrapbook. Small: holds up to 60 6×4” photos. Medium: holds up to 120 6×4” photos. Large: holds up to 120 6×4” photos. Extra Large: holds up to 240 6×4” photos. Expertly crafted using both contemporary and traditional methods, each one is bound by hand and sturdy enough to keep all your most treasured memories safe. The leather used for the cover is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes. Protected with natural oils, it will soften and age beautifully. The pages are created from khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi). This sustainable material is crafted by hand from recycled cotton, salvaged from the huge waste of the Indian garment industry. Only unbleached cotton is used, ensuring the paper is acid-free. Lightly textured and luxuriously thick, it feels beautiful to write, draw, or paint on. While it’s perfect for ball-point pens, gel pens, or watercolours, we wouldn’t recommend it for use with fountain pens. Due to the handmade nature of our products each one is unique, but loveliness comes as standard. All the products in this range are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India. We are fortunate enough to visit them every year, having worked with them for many years following Fair Trade guidelines. We are incredibly proud that together we are able to provide people in rural villages fairly paid work that may have otherwise been difficult to find, and consider the producers and their families true friends. The paper in all our journals and photo albums is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages.
