Authentic Mexican ex-voto milagro. Cherub shape. Handcrafted from zamak metal. Characteristic of Mexican religious art, these ex-votos (also called milagros) are used either independently or as decorations for more elaborate pieces to make a wish or to thank for a wish granted. These ex-votos are made of zamac metal (a mixture of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper) melted and cast in a hand-made mold. Widespread in Mexico and Latin America, it is very difficult to find artisan manufacturers who jealously preserve their methods and are located in remote areas of Mexico.
