The DESTRUCTURED PLAY or FREE PLAY, is made up of "loose parts" or materials of different shapes, sizes and textures. Children can then express all their creativity by exploring, manipulating, creating and recreating scenarios, objects and characters. Starting at 10 months (or when the baby starts sitting alone and trying to crawl) it is time to stimulate them with physical objects that can be manipulated. The deconstructed play kit consists of pieces of wood of different shapes, weights and sizes. In the first phase of knowledge of the material, the child experiments with new materials by manipulating them, putting them in the mouth, throwing them and making them “play” with each other. This first phase is essential so that it can then attempt the first constructions. In the second, the child experiments with the combination of different materials in constructions that are first simple and then increasingly complex. By trial and error, he begins to work out how the pieces interact based on their differences in weight, shape and size, improving or worsening the stability of a construction. It is the first step towards acquiring spatial perception, which is fundamental from the first months of life.
