The mirabelle plum appeared in the Middle Ages in Lorraine.  The region now provides 90% of world production and has a Red Label and a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).  The mirabelle plum is today celebrated by different festivals, and transformed into a multitude of products, from jams and compotes to brandies and liqueurs!  Our sugar candy cooked with mirabelle plum transcribes all the deliciousness of this fruit typical of eastern France...
