Lithotamnium is a small red algae that looks like coral. It grows on the seabed near the coast. Red algae contains calcium in the form of carbonate. It contains, like many seaweeds, many trace elements and minerals which are not negligible for the organism. Lithothamnium holds a large part of its properties to its natural Calcium content.
