The village of Mareau-aux-Prés stretches along the left bank of the Loire, a few kilometers downstream from Orléans (45). It is part of the AOC Orléans and Orléans-Cléry area, two relatively recent appellations, made official in 2006. The vineyard is of modest size – less than 90 ha – and is operated by only four winegrowers, which contributes to the and the interests of production.
The CHANT D’OISEAUX VINEYARD is located mainly in the locality that bears this name, south of the road to Orléans. The vines of the wine estate have their roots in the alluvial deposits of the banks of the Loire, formed of sandy silt and pebbles carried by the river from the Massif Central over the millennia.
