Who are we ?
Founded in 1995, Maison Calmel & Joseph is above all a human story made up of encounters and passions. After having traveled the world, we put our suitcases down at the end of Chemin la Madone, not far from the Cité de Carcassonne in the most continental area of the Corbières appellation. Because this is where our roots are: in Languedoc-Roussillon.
We work daily to reveal the incredible diversity of the Languedoc-Roussillon terroirs by offering you wines that are distinguished by their tension, their elegance and their impressive aromatic range. A mosaic of grape varieties and appellations where each cuvée brings a complexity linked to the soil and the climate on which it depends.
Instinctive and determined, Jérôme Joseph and Laurent Calmel have combined their experience and their vision of wine to defend a highly qualitative image of the Languedoc-Roussillon vineyard.
This vast territory, stretching from the Cévennes to the Spanish border, is the largest vineyard in the world. Calmel & Joseph draws from it a creativity inspired by its love of beautiful terroirs. Each of their wines has a strong personality while retaining the finesse and freshness that characterize them.
The originality of our approach is based on the identification of terroirs with high potential among partner winegrowers. It is with them that we vinify and age the wines.
We forge very close relationships with these partner winegrowers, based on friendship, trust and loyalty. These are long-term links built around work that begins in the plots.
We produce quality wines, without artifice, revealing the essence of a terroir and from vines cultivated with respect for the environment with natural vinification.
