Milk Thistle Mother Tincture Without Alcohol is a herbal preparation extracted from the seeds of the Milk Thistle plant. This type of extract contains the total phytocomplex of the plant in aqueous form; they contain all the beneficial properties of medicinal and spontaneous plants. Milk Thistle (Silybum Marianum) is a plant of the Asteraceae family and is known for its hepatoprotective, liver cell regenerating, purifying, antioxidant and digestive aid properties. Milk Thistle Mother Tincture is considered an ally of the liver and is therefore used to treat liver disorders especially thanks to Silymarin, a phytocomplex consisting mainly of 3 molecules (silybin, silicristin and silidianin) which perform various useful functions. Milk Thistle is rich in important substances such as Flavolignans (Silymarin), Flavonoids (apigenin, Kemferol, quercetol, catechiic tannins), Sitosterol, Lipids with a high concentration of unsaturated fats (linoleic, oleic and palmitic acid), Tocorefol, Sterols, Essential Oils, Tannins, Mucilages, Bitter Substances, Polyacetylenes. Usually the mother tincture is made with alcoholic maceration of medicinal herbs, alcohol and water for a certain period of time (20-40 days). However, to make the product suitable for children and pregnant women, there are also Alcohol-Free Mother Tinctures, made with a mix of Water and Glycerin as solvents. Our Alcohol-Free Mother Tinctures are obtained thanks to an innovative type of Ultrasonic Extraction, which allows for the complete extraction of the plant material, while at the same time preserving the integrity of all the molecules contained in the plant.
