Centella Mother Tincture Without Alcohol is a herbal preparation extracted from the aerial parts of the Centella Asiatica plant. This type of extract contains the total phytocomplex of the plant in aqueous form; they contain all the beneficial properties of medicinal and spontaneous plants. Centella, also known as Kotu Gola or Meadow Tiger (as injured wild animals, in particular tigers, roll in its leaves to speed up the healing of the skin), is a medicinal plant belonging to the Apiaceae family native to Asian continent but today widely spread in India and widely used in phytotherapy for its beneficial properties on blood circulation. Centella Mother Tincture is rich in important substances such as triterpene saponins (asiaticoside, osiasiaticoside, bramoside, centelloside), essential oil (vellarin), flavonoids, phytosterols, tannins, mineral salts and sugars which work in synergy with each other. Usually the mother tincture is made with alcoholic maceration of medicinal herbs, alcohol and water for a certain period of time (20-40 days).  However, to make the product also suitable for children and pregnant women, there are also Alcohol-Free Mother Dyes, made with a mix of water and glycerin as solvents. Our alcohol-free mother tinctures are obtained thanks to an innovative type of ultrasonic extraction, which allows the complete extraction of the plant material, while at the same time preserving the integrity of all the molecules contained in the plant.  All this is made possible thanks to the shock wave produced by ultrasound which causes the mechanical rupture of the cell walls.
