The Thomas Adam winery is located in the heart of the Rheinhessen wine-growing region between the towns of Mainz, Bingen and Bad Kreuznach. I, Thomas Adam; am now the fourth generation to run this winery in Partenheim. A place where viticulture was documented as early as the 8th century. My vineyards are located in the two Partenheim sites of St. Georgen (loess and clay) and Steinberg (clayey loam), which adjoins the Saulheimer Schlossberg to the west.

Silvaner and Riesling are the most important grape varieties. This is followed by Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Dornfelder, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Scheurebe, Regent, Portugieser, Cabernet Mitos, Bacchus, Ortega, Würzer and Rubinet - there are eighteen grape varieties in total.

The 19 hectare operation was completely realigned, between 2006 and 2020 we carried out a land consolidation in the vineyards. The vineyards were cleared and divided into new parcels of land and then planted with new vines.

In order to practice sustainable viticulture, I invested in a LIPCO recycling sprayer, which reduces spray consumption by 40%. This also brought the benefit of reducing plastic waste. In addition, we do not use herbicides in our vineyards.

By intensifying manual work in the vineyards, reducing yields and selecting the grapes by hand, the quality of the wines could be increased enormously. All wines bear an individual signature and reflect the terroir of the Partenheim sites.

I had all my newly bottled wines tested for histamine content so that people with histamine intolerance can enjoy my wine without hesitation. From 2020 the switch to vegan will take place, i.e. no animal gelatine. The marketing is mainly distributed via wine fairs. Weingut Adam is present at more than twenty trade fairs throughout Germany.
