Welcome to the Forster winery. Our family has lived and worked in Rümmelsheim and Burg Layen an der Nahe for eight generations. We manage our vineyards organically. Out of deep conviction and always open to new methods, we have been working in accordance with the ecological guidelines of Ecovin - the Federal Association for Ecological Viticulture Germany - since 1994.
The Nahe region is a wonderful piece of earth with a lot of nature and a unique variety of soils. The weather is different every year and we do a lot in the vineyard every year to harvest healthy, ripe grapes. We always work with nature and support our vines with a living soil that stores water and natural vegetation that protects the soil from erosion. The Nahe is favored by a particularly mild and rain-free climate. Our “cool climate” causes the grapes to ripen for longer, which creates complex aromas.
Our wines are classified into NAHEWEINE (estate wine profile), EARTH WINES (local wine profile) and LAGENWEINE and show, depending on the classification, the aromas typical of the grape variety, the character of the soil or the distinctive influence of the microclimate in the individual layers.
