My name is Mario Zelt. I am a winemaker. Of passion.
If you are interested in my wines, then the same things in life are important to you as they are to me. Then eating and drinking mean more to you than eating: namely culture, enjoyment and sociability. The origin plays a big role in my wines. The Palatinate is a region spoiled by the weather and you can taste it. Freshness and fruit dominate the base wines. When it comes to single-site wines, I try to bring the terroir of each individual vineyard into the bottle. My wines should always remain authentic. Like me. Viticulture has always been and always will be a craft for me. I work sustainably. As a member of the Fair’n’Green association, I have an eye not only on the environment but also on social aspects. As a winemaker, I always have to think outside the box and, in my work, think of those who will cultivate the land after me.
