Once upon a time there was a little girl, the last born of the Marquis de Wignacourt family.
In its time, the Belle Epoque, the region of the Pre-Ardennes peaks was a region rich in fruit trees. She walked through the alleys of apple trees, bit into the fruit and saw her parents drink their cider during picnics in the Ardennes forest.
A nature lover, she lived surrounded by forest animals: hares, deer, squirrels and foxes. The little marquise had an infinite attachment to her region, its inhabitants and its landscapes.
The Wignacourt family is now extinct. The region was devastated by two wars.
Forest was replanted in place of orchards and the landscape changed rapidly. The region is today the one that suffers from the greatest rural exodus in France.
The descendants of the little Marquise created Wignac to revive the orchards and help recreate employment in the region while protecting and promoting the rich biodiversity of the land.
Wignac's roots are thus at the heart of its future commitments.
