In 2008, during a hiking holiday, our founders Moritz and Andre planned how they would like to shape their future after studying organic agriculture.
It should be something sustainable and related to your passion for organic ingredients.
The idea that came to the two was as simple as it was innovative at the time.
• Organic ingredients as a basis
• Vegan, because animal welfare has always been important to us
• And all this in the classic way, just like grandma used to cook it in a glass and without any food chemicals
Thus, WDM Bio-Fertigprodukte started in 2009 in Hof Apfeltraum, under the brand Wünsch Dir Mahl and was the first manufacturer in Germany of vegan organic soups in a glass.
The first few years were characterized by learning by doing, be it in terms of production, but the first sales steps in direct sales also had to be learned. But with the necessary stamina and passion for our own products, we made the leap into the organic retail trade and were able to make a name for ourselves in the Berlin Brandenburg region as a quality manufacturer of vegan organic soups and stews. It took almost 4 years and it was time to take the next step. A larger production facility was needed to meet demand. Like WDM, we approached this task with pragmatism and a wealth of ideas. Together with our then 6 employees, we managed to convert a residential building with a former pub and distinctive inner courtyard into an IFS Global Food-certified production facility according to the latest standards and a special flair.
Then as now, it is our aim to adapt the production process to the recipe and not the recipe to the process, in order to make the selected organic ingredients what they deserve, a tasty and sustainable meal alla WDM.
With the experience gained, the know-how gained and the everlasting passion for great products, a healthy small company in the manufacturing style with a total of 15 employees has grown over the years from a 2-man company with a pioneering spirit, whose organic products are available throughout Germany are.
Since organic is not just a business for us, but also a matter of attitude, we get involved in a wide variety of ways. In 2019, for example, we became a partner of Regionalwert AG Berlin-Brandenburg and are actively working on ecological agricultural transformation by working with regional farmers and supporting them with fixed purchase quantities. For example, we avoid food waste and ensure that more and more of our raw materials come directly from the region, which automatically improves the CO2 footprint of our products.
And if you should be wondering why all of our products are vegan, this is easily explained. We not only love dogs and cats, but for us all animals are livable and lovable. That's why we like to go to the trouble of cooking vegan and therefore without animal products.
For the future, we promise you that we will continue to follow the WDM path and stand for high-quality organic products and commitment to the organic cause.
