Yolunda is Turkish and means "to be on the way". This is indicative of our concept, as we are constantly on the lookout for beautiful things to discover in our shop. On the other hand, the name also stands for the main product of our brand: the hammam towel, which is ideal for travel because it is so versatile, takes up little space in luggage and is very light.’
Founding story
Yolunda was founded in 2013 by me - Dörte Boesche. As a trained architect, I appreciate design, well-thought-out details and good workmanship. Through numerous trips to Turkey - my partner's home country - I discovered the hammam towels and had the desire to bring the colorful, versatile towels back to Germany. Thanks to our good contacts in Turkey, we quickly found a suitable, fairly interacting family business, and so the first Yolunda hammam towels were available in Germany in 2013. In 2017, the product range was switched to organic cotton.’
Hammam towel
It is not only practical as a sauna towel, in the spa or during sports, but is also ideal as a beach towel, picnic towel, baby blanket, but also as a pareo or scarf when traveling. And – last but not least – the hammam towel can simply be used wonderfully as a bath, shower and hand towel.’
Sustainability
We have our hammam towels and blankets woven in Turkey from organic cotton under fair conditions, according to our own designs. We strive to make our products as versatile as possible – because that means we need fewer things and can protect the Earth's resources even better.
