Zāles Galva began as a small family idea in Latvia — we first created these playful grass-head characters simply as gifts for our relatives. Their reactions were so warm and enthusiastic that we started to wonder whether others might enjoy them as much as our family did. So we made our first batch of 1,000 pieces, thinking that, if anything, we would have plenty of gifts for years to come.
To our surprise, the reaction was immediate and incredible. Local souvenir shops, flower boutiques, and small retailers quickly fell in love with the concept — the characters, the humor, the growing “hair,” and the handmade charm. What started as a personal gift turned into a beloved product with real demand.
Today, Zāles Galva continues to be crafted in small batches using natural, eco-friendly materials and a lot of care. Each character has its own name, personality, and story, bringing joy, greenery, and creativity into everyday spaces. After many successful years in Latvia, we are now ready to share this cheerful idea with a wider international audience.
Our mission is simple: to create little moments of happiness through nature, character, and handmade craftsmanship.
