SANTA ROSA - MICROLOT Catuai, Caturra Santa Rosa is a family farm run by Don Alexis and his two sons for over 20 years. The farm is located in a coffee growing region at an altitude between 1,700 and 2,000 meters. This 11-hectare farm mainly produces coffee, but also exports products such as avocados. Protected by the mountains of the Pacific slope, Santa Rosa is a forest sanctuary for animals and especially migratory birds. It is surrounded by several significant hills, including Cerro El Dragon, one of the country's iconic natural hills. Producer Don Alexis values respect for the earth. He produces his own organic fertilizers and grows his coffee in the shade of many species of trees: Erythrinas, Musaceae and fruit trees such as: bananas, bananas, oranges, lemons, chayotes, loquats, tomatoes,... Don Alexis Alvarado is a brilliant person, a visionary, with whom we will always learn something new during every conversation. Coming from a family of coffee producers, he inherited it from his father and now owns the family land with his son. In addition to coffee production, he held the position of president of a large cooperative in the region for many years. Today, he dreams of a fairer market for producers so that his descendants can live peacefully from this agriculture.
