Available size: 0.70 l Technique: Distilled Dry Alcoholic degree: 45% vol The third of our seasonal editions, Eugin Autumn Special Edition is a classic Distilled Dry Gin, characterized by the presence of a smoky note of roasted chestnuts obtained through a long cold extraction process. The more pronounced balsamic aroma of juniper than usual balances the hints of smoke, followed by a slight citric and fresh note given by fir sprouts and coriander, and then closes with the soft and rich taste of roasted chestnuts. It is a Distilled Dry Gin that offers unusual Gin & Tonic, with hints of smoke enhanced by the tonic, but which gives its best in a Negroni Cocktail, or even as a replacement for drinks that usually include whiskey. Tasting Notes On the nose the first notes of smoke emerge, at first drier, and then turn to notes more typically roasted chestnuts, followed by juniper, which in this gin is used in considerable quantities to give a good balsamic structure. The smoked wine also makes room for the palate, supported and balanced by juniper and a slightly citric and fresh note. In the finish, the smoke returns, with a taste that clearly recalls that of a rich and persistent roasted chestnut, with a persistence of woody notes given both by the use of chestnut peel and by the angelica root present in the recipe.
