This indigenous corn gets its astonishing color from anthocyanins, purple pigments with many virtues. Peru is one of the world's Lands of Origin for Corn, with nearly 700 indigenous and peasant varieties recorded. The Andean country is home to the cultivation of Purple Corn with respect for these noble terroirs, on rich soils and in biodiverse environments, while respecting traditional cultures.
