ASPARAGUS 390G

We select our asparagus from local producers because in the Landes, we are major producers of this vegetable. We even have a PGI for sand asparagus. It’s the Queen of Sands that we favor because it has a little nutty taste that we appreciate. We therefore had to offer you a can of natural asparagus online in our range of vegetables in jars.   Asparagus is a perennial plant thanks to its claw; its development is particular. The claw is formed from a seed, it is composed of a rhizome which has eyes (buds) at the upper part and fleshy roots radiating out in a star shape at the lower part. From year to year, it is the claw which ensures the survival of the plant on the one hand and the future harvest on the other. Each year, as soon as the harvest is over, a new claw is formed during the summer period; it grows thanks to its own new roots. Asparagus has long been used as a vegetable and medicinal plant, due to its delicate flavor and diuretic properties.

Preparation/recipe advice: Drain your asparagus gently but do not rinse it. Pour them into an asparagus dish and enjoy them with mayonnaise or a good homemade balsamic vinegar vinaigrette.
