For our spirulina food supplement, we have chosen spirulina cream: 100% ORGANIC and 100% pure, dried at low temperature to guarantee its nutritional qualities, and the richest in phycocyanins. OUR SPIRULINA: WHAT ORIGIN? Our spirulina is grown in the Chettinad region, in South India, outdoors and far from any industrial or agricultural pollution. Then it is packaged and controlled in France, in our ISO 22000 certified laboratory. A REGION WHERE SPIRULINA GROWS NATURALLY The cultivation of spirulina in this region of India was initiated around thirty years ago by the Indian government to provide for malnourished local populations. Spirulina originally comes from tropical climates, and requires certain temperature and humidity conditions to grow well. There are today a certain number of quality producers who have initiated the cultivation of spirulina artificially in France, but the climatic conditions in France do not allow them to cultivate it all year round, unless resort to artificial lighting and heating, unfortunately leading to incredibly higher prices. The quality is sometimes very good, but it is in no way superior to tropical spirulina from historical manufacturers, such as the one we use. We have therefore chosen to opt for spirulina grown in a country where it grows naturally, which can remain competitive in terms of price and accessible to as many people as possible, for equivalent or even higher quality. GUARANTEED LEVELS OF PHYCOCYANINS AND CAROTENOIDS The nutrient contents (% of phycocyanins, carotenoids and others) are guaranteed by the good practices used by our supplier in India. The latter is a pioneer in the production of spirulina and one of the first to obtain organic certification. These values are analyzed and controlled by our French laboratory. SPIRULINA GROWN ON A FARM FAR FROM ANY AGRICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL POLLUTION Scandals broke out regarding heavy metals a few years ago because of low-end spirulina produced at Lake Texcoco in Mexico or Lake Chenghai in China. It is therefore imperative today to ensure the quality of spirulina, and the first condition is the absence of pollution in the place of cultivation. For this reason, we chose a farm far from any agricultural and industrial pollution. All necessary controls are carried out by an independent laboratory to ensure the absence of heavy metals, but also other contaminants (microcystins, pesticides, PAHs, etc.). Finally, our spirulina is of course guaranteed to comply with the Plants Decree and French regulations.
