Kombu (Laminaria ochroleuca) (Organic & Raw) 25 g

Our Kombu algae in the usual PureRaw quality - organic & raw!             Kombu (Laminaria ochroleuca) are brown algae that occur in clear, cold waters worldwide.  They grow under controlled organic conditions and are gently dried, which means that the valuable ingredients are preserved in the best possible way.  Kombu algae naturally contains a lot of glutamic acid (umami flavor) and is therefore used in traditional Japanese cuisine as a natural flavor enhancer. Iodine and recommended consumption: Average iodine content: 3.097 g/kg1 1The iodine content may vary depending on the batch.             Approx.  50 mg dried kombu/approx.  127 ml of Kombu algae broth (according to the recipe suggestion*) corresponds to 100% of the reference amount for daily iodine intake of 150 µg/day (EU nutrient reference value).   Seaweed is naturally rich in iodine.  Excessive intake of iodine can lead to thyroid dysfunction.  Therefore, it is recommended to rehydrate the seaweed before consumption to reduce the iodine content.   Use: Use Kombu to prepare infusions or broths. *Recipe suggestion for a Kombu seaweed broth: Add 1 g of dried Kombu to 1 L of water and let it soak for 10 minutes.  Heat to 60°C (do not boil, otherwise it will be bitter).  Remove from heat and cook for approx.  Cover and let stand for 30 minutes.  Strain the kombu and you're done!             Ingredients: Kombu from certified organic farming Origin: Spain Storage: Protect from heat, light and moisture.             Average nutritional values per 100g of dried kombu Energy kJ (kcal): 745 kJ / 179 kcal Fat: <0.5g - of which saturated fatty acids: 0.1 g Carbohydrates: 18.0g - of which sugar: 0.0 g Fiber: 34.0 g Protein: 9.2 g Salt: 5.1g Iodine: 309772 µg Average nutritional values per 100 ml Kombu seaweed broth* Energy kJ (kcal): 5 kJ / 1 kcal Fat: 0.0g - of which saturated fatty acids: 0.0 g Carbohydrates: 0.0g - of which sugar: 0.0 g Fiber: 0.0g Protein: 0.0g Salt: 0.02g Iodine: 118 µg Hints: - It is a natural product whose composition is subject to natural fluctuations. -When drying, white deposits can form on the seaweed.  This is natural salt from algae.  This is not a quality defect. -Harvested by hand.  Despite careful processing, natural materials of marine origin may be included. -May contain traces of nuts, molluscs, crustaceans and marine fish.
