MTOTO: Bright Pink Stripe Moses Basket

The MTOTO moses basket sports bright pink stripes that pop on a natural base and soft cream carry handles made from sustainably-sourced goat’s leather. The weavers who produce these Moses baskets work as part of a talented weaving co-operative in Northern Ghana. Each Moses basket takes around three days to complete, using veta vera grass (also known as ‘elephant grass’) which grows wild in Ghana and produces wonderfully balanced and sturdy basketry. The majority of these weavers are men having been taught the age-old art of basket weaving from their own mothers and fathers. Basket weaving, and producing these exquisite woven Moses baskets, empowers women and men with the opportunity to earn a valuable second income. Please note for safety that this is not a carrying device and should only be used on the floor or a safe level surface when baby is inside. Each basket comes with a 1” thick hypoallergenic foam mattress covered in a machine washable quilted cover, a cotton fitted sheet and liner. Complies with British Standards BS EN 1466.
