Vega Aixala Emma 2021 & 2022 The winery is located in Vilanova de Prades in the Conca de Barberà region (approx. 35 km north of Tarragona) and is naturally managed today by the Vega family. The name Emma comes from Eva's daughter. Around 30,000 bottles a year are produced on 10 hectares. 2021 = Blend of Albariño, Riesling and Garnatxa Blanca. 2022 from Riesling and Albariño. The vines are planted at an altitude of around 900 meters on black slate terraces. The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks. A part for 8 days with skin contact. The remaining grapes were pressed directly and then rested in amphorae for five months. The wine was not clarified or filtered during bottling and contains only natural sulphites. On the nose: «Unripe pineapple, peaches, orange peel, lemon and some yoghurt. More happens in the mouth: peaches, ripe lemons, grapefruit, citrus zest and a mineral finish.
