The Emissary was created by London-based Ed Smith in 2018, who had become a little disillusioned with all the mass-produced, sub-standard Prosecco that seemed to have flooded the UK market. Having spent a lot of time in Northern Italy, Ed knew that there were a lot of delicious Proseccos out there, it’s just that not many of them seemed to be making their way to our shores. So he went on a mission to create a premium, stand-out Prosecco and found a third generation, family run vineyard near the village of Cornuda in Treviso, who poured all their years of experience and passion into making the most superb wine. And so The Emissary was born! All of our award-winning Proseccos are 100% vegan, low in sugar (the DOC is only 4g/l residual) and made using sustainable methods; our vineyard has SQNPI certification and uses an integrated chemical and herbicide-free production system that includes the use of natural and mineral fertilizers. Energy and water waste are kept to a minimum, and water is re-used in the vineyards to preserve biodiversity. We are lisited in some of London's finest restaurants and have received wide acclaim from both wine critics and press.
