Yellowfin tuna ventresca in olive oil packed manually. The ventresca is the noblest part of the tuna. It is obtained from the belly muscles, which are increasingly fat and soft, and is sold in fillets. YELLOW FIN TUNA (Thunnus albacares / Yellowfin) is a large fish, it can measure up to 2 meters in length and has a maximum weight of around 2 quintals. It is recognized by the long anal fin and the sickle-shaped second dorsal fin while the pectoral fins are short. Due to the very evident yellow shades, in the Atlantic countries, it is called Yellowfin tuna. The reproduction takes place in the summer period and to reach the reproduction areas the species also makes long migrations. Yellowfin tuna is a strongly migratory pelagic species and is widespread in all tropical and subtropical seas except the Mediterranean. It is the second species of tuna in terms of fishing volumes, particularly appreciated for its pink colored meat and delicate flavour. Label language: Italian
