This lamp was assembled by hand with great skill, welding together small pieces of colored glass, using the same technique developed over a century ago by its creator. The manufacturing technique for making lampshades and stained glass windows by lead-welding suitably shaped and cut colored glass tiles was invented by Luis Confort Tiffany at the end of the 19th century. This technique was then taken up by various Art Nouveau artisans and later ones to create subjects mainly inspired by nature such as flowers, butterflies, dragonflies and others. Today the creatives at ADM have created lamps with an absolutely contemporary taste using the same manufacturing technique. ANDan attempt to give new lustre to a wonderful invention of high craftsmanship by bringing it into the 2000s and making it more suitable to be inserted into the contexts of furnishing and design of today.
