Montone, Umbria

Montone is a beautiful medieval hilltop town in the region of Umbria, the green heart of Italy. I've used the rough texture of the watercolour paper to capture the light casting shadows on the warm stone work. The long shadows and the couple strolling down the hill add movement to the scene. This charming village is one of the places we take our guests on the painting holidays.
