The forest is the natural habitat for many animals. They are wild animals that only feel comfortable in the great outdoors. Which mother and which father does she not know, the many questions from curious children: What does the wild boar eat? Where does the fox sleep? Who has longer ears: hare or rabbit? Is the raccoon really that clean? This book introduces ten animals that live in our forests. None of these wild animals should be kept as pets, other than helping a small hedgehog through the winter or caring for an injured bird until it can fly again. We have to protect the forest so that we can see the diversity of hedgehogs, foxes, woodpeckers and deer in our forests for a long time to come. An important part of this is the establishment of nature reserves in which animals are allowed to live as undisturbed as possible.
