This special herbal tea can be found in every household since ancient times until today and every child in Greece grows up with it. Whether hot or as iced tea, Greek mountain tea is a gentle, aromatic pleasure with a slight hint of honey and vanilla. You can drink Greek mountain tea in many variations either pure, with honey & lemon or ginger & cinnamon. The nice thing is: the taste doesn't get boring... Alexis has been drinking the tea since he was little and still enjoys it almost every day. In addition, drinking Greek mountain tea also covers your daily water needs - just like all other herbal teas. It is often easier to drink 2 liters of mountain tea or other delicious herbal teas than water. Our Greek mountain tea grows at approx. 1000 meters above sea level in the hinterland of the Olympus Mountains, in the border area of the region of Thessaly and Central Macedonia on the east coast of Greece. We use a special variety from the legendary Mount Olympus, which has been a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 1981. This is the sideritis scardica variety, which has been proven to have the highest proportion of essential oils. How do I prepare Greek mountain tea? Like Alexis's grandma did: Boil in a pot, cover, simmer for 5 minutes, then let it steep for at least 5 minutes – it produces a particularly round, soft flavor. Or the classic way: Pour boiling water over it and let it steep – fruitier and gentler. Tip: The tea is very rich. For 1 liter you only need approx. 3–5g tea (2–3 stems / tbsp). You can brew it 2-3 times – and it tastes wonderful cold too! Cultivation & Producers Our producers rely on natural cultivation in the same environment where the plants grow wild. They do not use additional irrigation; this results in a smaller harvest, but also a much higher content of essential oils, which directly affects the taste and medicinal properties. Throughout the entire cultivation process, the producers rely on manual labor for planting, care, and harvesting. This protects the soil and, in contrast to mechanical cultivation, e.g.B. no other harmful PA-containing herbs in the tea. The Greek mountain tea is lovingly hand-grown by Anastasia and her family directly on Mount Olympus – the legendary mountain of the gods. The seeds were collected in the wild and the mountain tea grows at Anastasia in approx. 1st.000 m altitude in its natural environment. To ensure a particularly aromatic taste, the fields are not irrigated and are only worked by hand, from planting to care and harvesting. Why “enjoyment with a good feeling”? ✔100% organic certified ✔ No additives or preservatives ✔ Fair direct partnerships with producers ✔ Bottled in collaboration with people with disabilities This is how we bring Alexis's grandmother's philosophy into your kitchen: maximum flavor from a few, honest ingredients – made with love. Jiámas!
