Originally from New Caledonia, it was introduced by colonization and developed naturally thanks to favorable climatic conditions. It is a little invasive in certain marshy areas. It belongs to the same family as Cajeput (Melaleuca cajeputii), a tree with similar properties that grows in Asia. However, Niaouli offers several distinct chemotypes, which vary depending on the terroir: ✔️ Type 1 (Cineole 1,8 Chemotype): The most widespread, known for its powerful respiratory effect. ✔️Type 2 (Majority Viridiflorol Chemotype): Less common, it is appreciated for its circulatory and regenerative effect. ✔️Type 3 (Dominant Trans-nerolidol Chemotype): Developed in certain specific areas, it has scientifically proven anti-stress properties (studies by Professor Patricia d'Alessio, Necker Hospital, Paris). Our Organic Niaouli Essential Oil comes from a careful distillation of the leaves, ensuring a rich and balanced composition, while respecting local traditions and sustainable practices.
