In the past, it was common for this layer to contain lead or mercury, but over time it became apparent that these two metals were dangerous for our health and the environment. This is why Atelier Circé chose these lead- and mercury-free mirrors which are based on silver or aluminum and therefore non-toxic, yet with the same reflective properties.
